Central High School’s varsity baseball team opened their preseason schedule last Wednesday, Feb. 15 at Marlboro County and handed the host Bulldogs an 11-5 setback.
The Bulldogs took the lead with a first inning run only to have the Eagles counter with two runs of their own in the top of the second to grab a 2-1 lead. The score remained unchanged until the top half of the fifth when Central scored three runs. The big hit in the inning was a two-run double by Joseph Rollings that scored J.R. Mangum and “Hemmie” Lockhart.
