Jefferson boys lose to Pageland, McBee

Jefferson’s Dixie Boys (ages 13-14) baseball team lost games to Pageland and McBee last week.

“It was a rough week of baseball,” Jefferson coach Tim Sullivan said. “With 13 and 14-year old boys you never know what you will get from day-to-day. We need to have more enthusiasm and more effort.”

Pageland defeated Jefferson 14-12 in six innings at Conbraco Park on Monday, June 4.

Dante Blakeney was the winning pitcher while John Rollings took the loss. Hitting safely for Pageland were D.J. Drake with two hits and two RBI’s; Blakeney with two hits (HR) and three RBI’s; Stephon O’Pointe with two hits; Dymarcus Hubbard with three hits and four RBI’s and Briant Smith with two hits and two RBI’s.

Collecting hits for Jefferson were Cole Hudson with two hits and two RBI’s; Nolan Thurman with two hits and three RBI’s and Dusty Burch with one hit (HR) and two RBI’s.

McBee whipped Jefferson 14-6 on Tuesday, June 5 in a game that was called before completion due to McBee’s time limit.

Javonte Parks took the mound loss for Jefferson. Dadric Miller and Hudson had two hits each.
