It was a playoff-like atmosphere – lots of yelling, clapping and feet stomping – for visiting Central and homestanding McBee in the season opener for both teams.
The boys’ and girls’ varsity games went down to the final seconds.
Central fans said Jamie Bracey’s last shot beat the buzzer. McBee fans were equally vocal it didn’t. Central girls coach Eddie Rivers stared at the refs.
It didn’t change the refs’ minds, ruling Bracey’s three-point shot didn’t beat the buzzer. Win to McBee, 48-46.
