Logging equipment fire

High Point Fire District responded with two engines and a brush truck to a report of logging equipment on fire on Lighthouse Church Road in Pageland on Tuesday, Feb. 14. Firefighters arrived to find a logging skidder approximately 100 feet from the road with a large fire showing from the engine area. Bystanders assisted firefighters in moving a hose line up an embankment and through a field to get to the burning skidder. The fire was declared under control within three minutes of firefighter’s arrival and appears to have started around the skidder’s batteries.
