The wedding of Taylor Martin Vanderlip and Emily Erin Gillespie at Flint-Groves Baptist Church in Gastonia, NC was held on January 14, 2012 at 2 p.m. with friends and family.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Gillespie of Oklahoma City. She graduated from North Greenville University in Elementary Education and is employed by Spartanburg District Seven school system.
The groom is the son of Mr. Marty Vanderlip of Monroe, N.C. and Lori Mullis Vanderlip of Pageland. He graduates from North Greenville University in May of 2012 in Business Administration.
The bride wore an Ivory Charmeuse Grown with a Side-Drape Sash. The ribbon sash featured beautiful applique’ detail of crystal and pearl beading. The strapless, soft charmeuse fabric and side-drape sash created a slimming silhouette for the beautiful bride. The bride carried a bouquet of Esperance roses, orange unique roses, and hot pink spray roses with added detail of family jewels throughout the bouquet.
The maid of honor was Sarah Renee Gillespie of Gastonia, N.C. sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kelsey Miller, Katie Potter, Andi Evans, Hope Boyd, Kayla Rease, Amber Polk, Callie Beth Gillespie, Madison Vanderlip, and Brittany Kiker. They wore a Malibu blue satin one shoulder dress with a ruched waist.
The best man was Frank Mullis of Pageland, grandfather of the groom. Groomsmen were Billy Hogge, Mathew Bruce, Jonathan Atkinson, Daniel Atkinson, Stephen Atkinson, Travis Lively, Brian Pellegrini, and Dustin Kiker. They wore matching Malibu blue vests under a black tux.
Other members of the wedding party were ring bearer Grant Mullis of Jefferson, flower girl Makenna Massey of Greer, Painist Irene Craig of Gastonia, N.C., musicians Jared Dyar and Michael Mitchum of Sumter, Usher Justin Padgett of Gastonia, N.C., Minister Kevin Qualls of Indian Trail, N.C., Minister Scott Gillespie of Oklahoma City and Wedding Planner Sonda Buchanan of Gastonia, N.C.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at Flint-Groves Baptist. The rehearsal dinner was held at the McAdenville Community Center in McAdenville, N.C.
After a wedding trip to Charleston the couple will reside in Duncan.
