Jule Smith
CHERAW - Jule Smith, 88, died May 6, 2012.  A funeral service was held May 8, 2012 at St. Paul United Methodist Church with burial in the Chesterfield Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Davis Smith; his sons Jule Garreth Smith of Isle of Palms and Kenneth Hudson Smith of Cheraw;  daughters Phyllis Smith Silva of Lexington and Sherri Smith Thurman of Ruby; sister Mary Lee Johansson, brothers Charles W. Smith and J. Roy Smith; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers  memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 305 W. Main Street, Chesterfield, SC 29709 or to Hospice of Chesterfield County, P.O. Box 293 Chesterfield, SC 29709.

Bertie Lee
CHERAW – Mrs. Bertie Faye Lear Lee, 65, died May 7, 2012 at her home. A funeral service was held May 9, 2012 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Westfield Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Surviving are daughter Rhonda Lee Jordan of Chesterfield; brothers Henry Lee Lear of Ruby, Bobby Ray Lear of Chesterfield, Fred Lear of Wallace and Robert Lear of Chesterfield.

John Ratliff
RUBY – Mr. John Dalton Ratliff, 67, died May 8, 2012 at his home. A funeral service was held May 10, 2012 at White Oak Presbyterian Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Jordan Ratliff of the home; son Chad Ratliff of Pageland; mother Beatrice Oliver Ratliff of Ruby; sister Frances “Punk” Mills of Fort Mill, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Farris Short
RUBY – Mr. Farris William “Willie” Short, 60, died May 10, 2012 at his home. A funeral service was held May 12, 2012 at Clanton Plains Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Surviving are a son, Donald Ugene Short of Pageland; daughters Lisa Short of Pageland and Amber Short of Lancaster; two grandchildren; brothers Ray M. Hoffman of Florence and Frank Hoffman of Hartsville; half-brother, Darron Donahue of Mt. Croghan; sisters Elizabeth Turner of Florence, Dianne McCarty of Hartsville; half-sister Debbie Donahue of Mt. Croghan.

Heyward Kennington
JEFFERSON –  Mr. Heyward Marvin Kennington, 86, died May 9, 2012 at his home. A graveside service was held
May 12, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Surviving are a son, Marshall Kennington of Aiken; daughters, Cynthia K. Mace of Marion, N.C. and Barbara J Jubrey of Ridgecrest, Calif.; brothers Sonny Kennington of Hartsvilleand Junior Kennington of McBee; sisters Louise Terry of Lancaster, Evaughn Leaphart of Lexington, Eloise of North Augusta, Grace of Newberry and Helen Miles of McBee; eight  grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.

Andrew Brasington Jr.
CHERAW – Mr. Andrew E. “Gene” Brasington Jr., 60, died May 10, 2012 at his home. A funeral service was held May 13, 2012 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are his wife, Geraldine “Dean” Adams Brasington of the home; brother  Duane Prescott Brasington of Cheraw; sisters Cindy Brasington Polson of Cheraw and Linda Brasington Zimmerman of Boiling Springs.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Chesterfield County, P.O. Box 293, Chesterfield, SC 29709.

Dr. William Perry
CHESTERFIELD – Dr. William Louis Perry, M.D., died May 6, 2012 at his home. A funeral service was held May 12, 2012 at Chesterfield Baptist Church.
Surviving are his children,  William Kirven Perry of Lumberton, N.C., Arden Perry Fields of Clemson and Ruth Perry Higson of Conway;  six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
 In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Chesterfield Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 388 Chesterfield SC 29709.
