A new Heights Middle School teacher has again been arrested and charged with additional incidents of sexual misconduct with a minor.
Carole Ann Hope, 36, was arrested by officers of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division on Thursday, Dec. 15 on two warrants signed by Judge John A. Davis.
The warrants claim Hope engaged in sex with an underage victim in a parked car on a rural road near McBee and another time near Central High School. The official charges are Second Degree Sexual Battery on a victim 11 to 14 years of age and committing a Sex/Lewd act on a child under 16. The warrants say the crimes were committed between March 1 and Oct. 31 of this year.
Hope was previously arrested on the same charges last month, first in Darlington County where it is alleged she had sex with the minor at her Hartsville home. When she posted bond for those charges she was immediately arrested again and charged with committing the same acts at a Myrtle Beach hotel in Horry County.
Hope is on leave from her job as a 7th-grade math teacher at New Heights and her teaching certificate has been suspended.
