Eagles lose in playoffs after two overtimes

The Central Eagles basketball team lost in the first round of the state playoffs on February 15, falling to Southside Christian of Simpsonville 71-70 after two overtimes.

The Eagles led after the first quarter 15-14, but at halftime the Sabers had a 23-19 lead.

Central scored 16 points in the third period, holding Southside to 15. The Eagles tied the game in the final period to take the game into overtime, tied 62-62.

But the Sabers outlasted the Eagles in overtime, scoring nine points to their eight.
