Charges dropped in 2017 death of Mickey Short

The Chesterfield County solicitor has dropped charges against one of the three people charged in the death of Mickey Short of Ruby, according to news reports.
Short, 63, was found dead near an abandoned pickup truck on Hurst Road outside Chesterfield. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots about 10 or 11 p.m. on June 20. The body was found June 21, 2017.
Charges have been dropped against Kenneth E. Parker of Lancaster. He was charged with murder, armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. The solicitor did not give details why the charges were dropped.
