Domestic call ends with K9 search

A June 27 call for a domestic dispute turned into a K9 chase and an arrest on gun charges.
Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the domestic call on Airport Road near Pageland about 12:45 p.m.
K9 Dino tracked Matthew S. Lee, 25 of Nellie Road in Pageland to a field near Guess Road and  the airport.
A deputy ordered Lee to lay on the ground and put his hands behind his back, according to the Sheriff’s Office report.
When Lee did not comply a deputy jumped on his back to handcuff him, according to the report.
A search found one handgun on Lee and another nearby.
A records check revealed the guns were “clear,” according to the report.
Lee was charged with parole violations. In 2018 he pled guilty to burglary and grand larceny charges. He was sentenced under the Youthful Offenders act to probation.
In other reports:
• Reginald O. Dunlap, 44, of the 700 block of North Arant Street, Pageland, was charged with felon possessing a gun and possession of stolen property following a June 29 incident.
Deputies were responding to a call of man with a gun in bar on S.C. 265  near Jefferson.  
A deputy stopped a car matching the description given by dispatchers.
A search of the vehicle found a handgun, according to the report. A records check showed the weapon was stolen in Mecklenburg County, N.C.                                                                                                  
• Tony R. Rivers Sr. jumped from a moving vehicle on John Price Road to avoid deputies on June 27, according to a sheriff’s office report. He is wanted on felony charges. K9 units searched the area but could not find him. The driver of the car, Allen A. Rivers, 51, of Morven, N.C. was charged with failure to stop for blue lights.
• David B. Baggett, 33, of Duncan Road in Pageland, was charged June 24 with possession of a stolen ATV. Baggett told deputies he had purchased the ATV. The owner of the ATV said he did not know anything about a sale. The ATV was valued at $5,000.
• Nicholas Teel, 24, of Columbia was arrested June 25 in Patrick on possession of stolen property charges. Teel is alleged to have stolen a 2017 Chevrolet car worth $18,000.
• A Chesterfield County deputy “dry fired” his stun gun to subdue Edward M. Shannon, 27, of Davis White Road in Chesterfield on June 26. Shannon was arrested on domestic violence third degree charges.
According to a sheriff’s office report, Shannon did $500 in damages to the patrol car.
