For the third straight week, Cheraw came up short in the final seconds of a 6-AAA region game.
This time the game went to two overtime, with Marion winning 36-35.
In the first overtime, Cheraw coach Andy Poole wanted to go for a two-point conversion and the win, but Braves’ quarterback Tyson Hall was injured. Bradford Dyson’s kick sent the game into the second overtime. 28-28.
In the second overtime, Jalen Coit caught his fourth touchdown. Cheraw again kicked the point after.
