New Heights Middle School started its football season off with a big win, defeating Long Middle School 32-12.
With several returning starters experience paid off for New Heights.
“Daniel Leaird showed that experience the most at quarterback,” said coach Billy Blakeney. He completed all five passes, three for touchdowns.
Leaird threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Raymond. Zack Sowell added a two-point conversion for an 8-0 lead after one quarter.
