Chesterfield found the consistency it was seeking Saturday, scoring on three straight possessions for a 21-12 win over region rival Lee Central.
All of Chesterfield’s points came in the first half.
Shyhiem Rivers had two touchdown receptions. James McBride scored the other touchdown for the Rams.
“We did the little things we needed to do, we started clicking,” Chesterfield coach Michael Mains said.
Chesterfield is 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the 4AA region. Lee Central fell to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in the region.
Mains said the short week of practice and the hurricane might have worked to his team’s advantage. “It was a chance for the players to come and do something. We had our best week of practice before this game.”
Chesterfield’s next opponent is Andrew Jackson, 4-2 overall and 0-1 in the region.
